Finished my rear bumper made from a Rocky Road blank. Got a little carried away with the mounting point after Misatori told me he bent his using on the four hole. There are ten bolts holding it on. I still need to install the small round backup lights. Had to order them since I could not find them local.

10 mounting points eh???

I dunno, maybe you should have gone for 20 or 30 to really make sure ;)

I would not worry about bending that thing. My bumper is 1/8" metal, and only 6 bolt hold mine on, Rubicon/WA and oregon trails. I have yet to bend my bumper, or mounts. I doubt I ever will, And Glenns bumpers are 3/16" right?

I like the bumper but arent the lights a little vulnerable? maybe I'm the only one that just backs up until I hit somethin:confused:

Looking good. Do you have any side shots? Did you weld on some side plates?

It looks a little over 1/8" but less than 3/16". I think it is probably something like 11ga. I wasn't worring about bending the bumper, only the mounts. One of mine was already bent from some impact with the factory bumper. The factory bumper was bent pretty good. I figured since this bumper is unlikely to bend, the mounts would have bent worse, with a stout bumper. Here is a pic of the slightly tweaked mount. I hammered it back up and welded it where it was cracked.

The lights which include the housing and bulb are $7 at any truck stop, so it really doesnt matter if you munch one.

Cool thing with using those trailer light is that if you do smash one, they're about $6-7 to replace and available at most auto parts, trailer shops, truck stops, etc. They don't stick out far though and there's a bit of 'give' in how they mount with the rubber grommets.

Oh, I used 1/4" for the mounts:D

That reminds me, I used 6" of 4"x4"x1/4" angle iron for the bracket and a small piece of 1" scrap for the side bolt mounting point. Here is a pic of it before I added the other two mounting points.

Don't forget tying into the two body bolts that are under the tailgate (seen when you open it). You would amazed at how much a couple of tabs at the top of the bumper will strengthen it.
