I saw this rig on the trails this weekend and I am curious what it is. I saw it being trailered away and snapped a pic:

MMMmmmmm jeepster,
Commando I think.

Basically the same internals as a CJ7 but with some seriously ugly bodypanels wrapped around it.. :D

Yep, Jeepster Commando and I am sure the top comes off too.

Yup, top comes off. CJ grill, fenders, and hood bolt right on, making for a decent looking rig. Scrambleresque wheelbase, and the strongest frame that jeep built till they got to wranglers from what I've read. Would love to have one, just for the different look, could be made into a mean trail rig.

Thanks guys! It was hard to tell, but there was an emblem on the side of the hood that I couldnt make out. It was 2 words, one on top of the other. Definetly looks like a Jeep Commando. Interesting rig!

Jeepster Commando by Kaiser - 70-71 vintage - 101" WB. And ya only gotta take out 27 rusty bolts to get the top off . . . I know 'cause I took mine off Saturday.

Damn, what's the median age of this board, 19?

Yes, it's a Commando (akin to the Jeepster body). No, the hood, grille, fenders where similiar in appearance to the CJ but not identical. (Commando was a wider style). My Grandmother used to "wheel" one.

That is a commado Jeepster.
years 67-71
Kaiser Model C-101

The Grill is not the same as a CJ. the turn indicators are outboard of the Head lights.

I know its got a different grill and chit, but I've seen people bolt on CJ stuff to do away with the funky comando grill, geeesh, gimme a little credit here.:flipoff2:

Looks just like Rockhog's before it's transformation.
