Globe, AZ - This years WEROCK Arizona competition lived up to its expectation. Tons of fans, tons of excitement, beautiful weather and stiff competition. The Formula Toys were in record numbers for the event. We had 11 registered for the weekend. WEROCK really has thier program running well. It only took a few hours for our whole class to run 4 courses. We were done so early that, we all sat and talked about the day for a few hours, then went out to eat at the local restaurants, then went and saw a movie, and still it was only 8:30pm!
Saturdays competitors was tight, as tight could be. Throughout the day, all scores were very close between all the courses. By saturday's end, 30 points seperated the top 8 drivers. This would leave sunday wide open for anyone to win.
Sunday's courses proved to be a tougher. As the day went on, the fog of war rolled in as competitors fell victum to Lil'Riches course designs. At the end of the day, 6 points seperated the podeum. Matt Messer would end victorious on sunday's eve. Hobie and John James would take 2nd and 3rd only to be regretting that one little cone or backup that cost them the whole weekend.
