: New Truck at Disney this weekend.
okcrawler 05-27-2002, 08:47 AM Ok guys, cover your keyboards. :)
Here is some pics of a new truck that showed up at Disney this weekend. It's a real piece of work!
You've been warned... :D :D

okcrawler 05-27-2002, 08:54 AM 4/4
Sorry, I forgot his name (I'm very bad with names :) )..... I'll find out and post back later...
BornInAJeep 05-27-2002, 09:05 AM I'd like to see that large old guy get in that thing, considering the placement of that spreader across the door opening.
dumplin 05-27-2002, 09:09 AM Man , that is fawkin' sweet . Never seen beadlocks like that or that tight ass hydro setup !!! :flipoff2:
Mr. Bastard 05-27-2002, 09:24 AM Yeah, that is a sweet rig. Didnt get a chance to go and check it out closley. We were parked up on top of the staircase watchin it get some :D

It looks like it has a removable pin so that it swings open just like a door would. Nice rig.
SHERPA 05-27-2002, 09:54 AM I think I just spotted on my keyboard.
--the bottom part of the frame looks "different" though.
the rest is bitchen'

44Runner 05-27-2002, 10:17 AM what is this thing, I have never seen a setup like this. Would like more pics of this front setup. Looks like this would act sort of like a panhard rod....
EDIT: Actually, that seems to be the only link i can find, other than what appear to be anti-sway bar connections. Either way, that is a crazy setup. Still want more pics of it...
Bones 05-27-2002, 10:18 AM Yeah, that rig was sweet as well as tons of others. Here's the only pic I got of it. Make my 'Runner look like a stock Kia
ScoutsHonor 05-27-2002, 10:23 AM Thats very interesting... I can see how it wouldn't allow side-to-side movement (IE Panhard bar)... but it also would act as a link bar for forward movement... the possibilities are interesting for that.. imagine using it in the back to control rear steer on a 1/4 elliptic setup?
Wait a minute.... I don't see any other link bars either....
aaronlosey 05-27-2002, 11:11 AM things keep poping up on other peoples rigs so fast. the link in the suspension i saw a few weeks ago in moab on corbins amigo. he said it replaces the track bar and controls the axle torque and blah blah blah better.
as to the hydro setup, i've seen the exact same setup and i bet hes already bent a ram. see if it pops back up with one giant ram per axle soon.
sweet rig though, love those balloon like tsls.

Check out Walker Evens rig.
SHERPA 05-27-2002, 11:41 AM would anyone guess if those tires are 44's, or 42's???

FullWidth 05-27-2002, 11:58 AM If you look closely in the picture on both sides there are gold looking bars which look like they are linking the axle to the frame, but I dont know how this would work, becuase this wouldnt allow movement. Whatthe ehll does he have going on ??

yeah walker has ran it for about 4 years...
a couple of freinds and I were talking about this "idea" in like mid 97, and then saw it down here 2 weeks later....glad to see it works so good....
one thing I have only seen once is the steering link on walkers front end....I bet it is 0 bumpsteer
anyone?
GearMan 05-27-2002, 12:02 PM walker got rid of that set up and went with a set up more like Welder Boys except his is upside down from WBs
Insayn 05-27-2002, 12:13 PM Sunray engineering has that same front setup to locate the front axle. Maybe he had Sunray do the work. Otherwise that thing is nice.

Yep, especially with hyraulic steering. :p
wngrog 05-27-2002, 02:56 PM Yep, seen that same setup on Sunray rigs, but I don't think they built that Jeep.
Kick ass how he did the Coilovers and kept the tub...

I'd say they're 44s.
okcrawler 05-27-2002, 03:39 PM Ok, some updated info...
That's Dave of Dave Co. here in Tulsa. He makes those bead locks. All CNC, REAL SWEEET :D....
He also does powder coat, that entire rig is powder coated! A true work on art! (With a few fresh scratches.. :rasta: )
The front suspension is just an inverted 3 link, with the links going forward. How well it work is still up in question, I noticed a lot of slip travel and wheel base change.... With those short radius rods, that's just part of the price... You also have a lot of front overhang....
He also hand made the hydro setup. It's a beast! The shafts are at least 1-1/2" and the ram OD is around 2-1/2"! It's BEAST strong!
Tomorrow, when I get back to work (and off this d@mn modem), I'm post links to some larger shots of the suspension. Check out those heim joints, they are at least 1"! The hydro bump stops are also real sweet. ;)
And yes, those are 44"s! They just look like 42's on that beast. :)
i like the blue one in your pic better
pistol45 05-27-2002, 07:18 PM yjtj, the blue one looks to be Casey at wagoner machine shop
www.wagonermachine.com there is more pics of it there or at extreme4wheelin.com
rockzooki 05-27-2002, 07:23 PM looks great. i like the frame design.
twistedmetal 05-27-2002, 08:17 PM Yeah, I bet he EASILY has over like $1000 bucks into that thing.
I need to take another look, but I, too, cannot see any other links on the suspension. See 'em?
twistedmetal 05-27-2002, 08:18 PM I see 'em, they're GOLD.

44Runner 05-27-2002, 10:39 PM yeah, after careful second look I found them, somehow I missed the top attachment points. At first glance it looks like those links go straight up off the axle, not up and forward, which made me think they were somesort of anti-sway bar attachment. Probably should have posted that I firgured it out earlier ;)

Also notice Casey sporting his new front coil setup! Everyone razzed him about his leafs. I guess he finally gave in! :D

Danny, at Danny's Differentials (1-800-326-6978) in Tulsa is selling them for Dave. I can get more info tonight. From what I've seen so far, he is doing them in AL or Steel powder coated.
Custom designs are possible. It's all CNC, so he can do shapes and/or text on the inner portion.

They are $798 for a set of 4. Available in AL or Powder Coated steel in any color you want (w/in reason, he does not do the irredecent stuff)...

That's a pretty decent price. Are they 36 or 32 bolt? Ring thickness? (In case you know 'cause I'm just curious)
SHERPA 05-29-2002, 06:08 AM they appear to be 36 bolt. (I counted them on one of the pics)
--Sherpa
very cool rig indeed.......

They are 1/2" thick, in 36, 32, 16 .... what ever bolt your wheels are.... Yes, the price is for outer rings and bolts only. That's the best I can remember, they are a little pricy for me. I'd just scratch them up anyway.. :D

so that price of $798 is only for the rings and bolts?? no rims?
what about the inner-rim plate that welds to the wheel shell?
sheesh, even if it does include the inner-rim plate, at $798,
for another hundred you could have champions... (And they
include the wheel for that price...
oh well....
