So i'm trying to moving my axle back about 5 and half inches or so from stock location during my 1 ton swap on project shit missile. Who makes some good springs at a decent price that can bring the centering pin back back about 4-6 inches. Here's the meausrements on my current Rustys (and they're pretty rusty too) springs:

47 5/8" eye to eye
21 5/8" front eye to center pin

I need the pin to sit about 27 1/8" or so...basically if you flipped the springs they would sit perfect...my only problem is the bushings are different...any solutions here? any custom spring makers at decent price? thanks...

Have you tried Deaver springs. I do not know about price but the can build pretty much custom whatever you need.

x2 on the deaver stuff. Your honestly best looking at flipping the rear springs and running an anti-wrap bar.

i've reading up on the rear spring flip. looks like either we swap the bushings out or you get some custom springs. if the pin moves back further then the center of the spring pack, then we need to figure out a track bar to help control the spring wrap. btw, had fun cutting the body today wish i brought my dig cam.

Keep in mind that on a leaf spring the front half of the spring serves as a control arm, positioning the axle and transfering the axle torque/movement to the body. If you turn the spring around so the front half is longer than the rear half then the spring will fatigue much quicker due to the force that's applied to that half of the spring. If you need to move the axle rearward, the best thing would be to get a longer set of springs and locate the rear shackle further back or use a pretty long boomerang type shackle.

A set of Commanche leaves would move the axle back 3", and are 52" long, 5" longer than stock. If you're willing to piece together a set of leaves out of used springs, any local spring shop could bend up a main leaf for you. I'd also recommend you talk to Deaver, both to get a quote and to get some reputable advice on how to do what you're looking for.

Alcan spring makes a pretty decent custom pack. They do pretty much anything you'd like. I paid $400 for a set.

dont know if they can do custom center pin locations, but i ran a set of bigoffroad springs http://www.bigoffroad.com/vendors/bigoffroad/index.htm which are contracted out from alcan....they were a bit stiff, but miltary wrap, and they were made for 300 or so pounds in the back if you run alot of spare parts/tools, no axle wrap either.

Just flip your springs and have some custom main leaves made with the right bushing ends. The bolt them back together. Any local leaf spring shop can do it. Might cost 200-250 for both. Also like others have said...gonna need a stout anti-wrap bar.

I have been very pleased with my Alcans, I just wish I would have linked it from the start, instead of doing leafs, and then going 4 link

I have had real good luck with a combo of s-10 and XJ leaves flipped. Obviously you have to have a traction bar or it is rap city. I am really light on the ass end so the springs are a little heavy for washboard roads but for crawling and high speed they seem to work really well. I have run Tomken, Rock Crawler, and god forbid Rusty's springs and these have been the best.

You can kind of see the extended wheel wells in this pick.
