Title basically states it all.

I'm currently running a Miller 130XP and like it for the most part. But I'm looking at replacing the 130 with something 220V capable.

The Passport sounds just about perfect because of the portability(ie I can get rid of the 130 entirely) but has the 220 capability.

The other ones I'm considering are the DVI, 210 and 251. I'm only briefly considering the DVI since all three of these welders are not quite portable:D

So, any firsthand experience with the Miller Passport? Anyone used it and compared it to one of the three above?

I have a Miller Passport. Love the thing. Portable. Has both internal and external gas supplies (don't have to lug a tank with you on outings). Does 110 and 220 work. It welds a hell of a lot better than I am capable of at this point. The biggest drawback to it is, I put it away after I'm done using it. Then I have to get it back out again. My old Miller 210 was always ready and on the cart. Plug it in and weld. The biggest draw to it is the dual voltage welding. I can do sheetmetal to 1/2". I really needed the portability. I was doing a lot of welding on track hoes, dump trucks and the like on the job sites. I have run it from a generator and it did fine. Not recommended by the manufacturer though.

How did you like the welds the Passport was doing compared to your old 210 on thicker material?

I personally think they are about the same. A weld is really only as good as the weldor. I still lay multiple passes on thicker stuff. It's only my personal preference. I get better penetration (with any welder) and can keep it looking nice as well.
