Disable Seatbelt Alert

I am so sick of having to put on and take off my seatbelt while four wheeling, due to the seatbelt beeping alert.

Does anyone have an idea on how to disable this? I know there has to be a way to do this.

when you first start the bruiser, hold the odometer reset button for like 5 seconds and while holding click your seatbelt in and it should give you the option to turn it off with the reset button. try that out youll be so used to slamming your belt on to shut it up so at least a good habit has been implemented:D

Most seatbelt warning systems are triggered off a two wire lead coming from the seatbelt latch. You could theoretically either permanently connect those two wires to avoid ever having the alarm, or install a switch in the location of your choice to kill the alarm by connecting the necessary wires. That having been said, I agree with the other dude that suggested that the alarm itself probably fosters a positive habit. Tampering with such a safety system should be given careful consideration...

The following worked on my 06 Avalon and seems to work on most other Toyota cars in the 06 - 07 range.

1. Turn the ignition ON but don't start engine (Ignition ON by pressing ENGINE START STOP button twice with foot OFF the gas)

2. Make sure speedometer is in odometer (ODO) display

3. Turn ignition OFF

4. Turn ignition ON again without starting it

5. Press and hold odometer button. After 10 seconds and while still holding the button, buckle your seat belt.

6. ODO display will change to b-on or b-off depending on the pressing of the odometer button.

7. When odometer is set to b-0ff you are done!
