I know its not the wanted section but I lost my gas cap and need a new one. This is for a 66 so the cap is the older style. If anyone has one laying around Id love to take it off your hands

so what you do, get 3 shop rags, make 2 into a ball, wrap the third around them, stuff it in there till its nice and snug, and leave some tail so you can pull it out. its easy:p

just kidding, my dad lost his, and we never did get one the really fits well. if anyone has a napa PN for one that fits correctly, i would apreciate it too...

I got the one I recently lost from SOR but I just don't want to pay the rediculous handling fee for a gas cap. They are 7.30 list and im sure after I go through the checkout procudure ill be at 15-20 bucks

I rubbed mine off on a trail (67fj40) and went to NAPA, where they handed me a big box with a dozen or so gas caps in it, let me try them all.
The one off of an fj60 worked the best, and was a cheap temp. solution till I found the right one.

Hey Arndog,
I ended up putting in a filler neck from a 78 to get a common gas cap. NAPA does not sell one for the old LC.

The cap is still avail from the dealer. I know it is about the same $ as SOR but you wouldn't have to pay shipping.

I got my gas cap from the dealer for around 12 dollars. My FJ40 is a 69 model. Not sure if they are the same or not.
