I'm building an F-toy but I'm trying to set my budget.

What can an F-toy that is at comp spec or very close be sold for? Say Running Propane, Marlin Crawler Doubler, beadlocks, aussie lockers F/R, and stock shafts etc.

Are we talking like 3k or 5k or 10+? I have no idea.. but I dont want to sink 4-5k into something that i can only recoup 3k out of.

Thanks for the help.

You'll never get what you put in back out of it. Check out the guys who are trying to sell their comp buggies. They spend 40-50k and sell them for 25K. They are not an investment. I can't even begin to count how much money I dumped into mine and it never ends. The big parts are just the beginning, it's all the little stuff you don't even think of that ends up costing you.
But you can't put a price on fun.

You are not going to be able to build an F-Toy for 3-4k unless you already have a fully built Toyota to start with. If you are worried about loosing 1-2k when you sell it then you should find another sport. :flipoff2:

We started small and added good parts when we could afford them. Any way you build it you will never get all your money back but like Fyrdude said the fun is priceless and F-TOYS are a blast :smokin:

ftoys that are crappy sell for 8k....and 10k if they have good parts but crappy fab work. if a ftoy is put together nice and had bling stuff, like what you mentioned and krawlers...15k minimum used.

that is a hard question to answer, it will bring more if it build by one of the shops that race them as people will know it is high quality

a lot is going to depend on how pretty it looks to many people as they have no idea on how to really build one so they go by eye sight

pretty does not mean the welds are good and the frame is stright

but there are many hiden cost in building them your time is worth money and it takes manyhours of welding grinding ect to build them

and this is one of the lowest cost race sports you can get into beside my F toy is a $25,000 sand rail sitting i will never get out what i have invested in that but then agiain that is not why it was built it was built to run 100yd sand drags which it ifor a number of years now it is just a high speed toy for sand FTOY is for trails
