Thanks for the help on all the axle questions thus guys.

D70U cut to 63/64” in the back. With an oil slinger and an aftermarket cover to add a bit more gear lube. Detroit with 5.13`s and 35 spline shafts.

Now onto the front axle and the basis of this post.

As with the rear it will be narrowed to the same 63/64 inches.

In the front I have a ball joint HP60. A king pin would have been first choice but you have to work with what you have.

Working on ether converting to hi steer via new BJ knuckles or changing over to a complete KP setup. Say like Dedenbear.

Have to look at the options and figure out the way to go. As both set ups are available.

Question of the day is.

What am I going to run into on the short side of the axle ?
Not much tube to work with and the spring perch is cast into the housing.

Wondering about pinion offset placement, WMS location etc.

If it helps any there is a SOA HP44 in there right now.

Please have patience, as my YJ is a couple hundred miles from me as I am trying to work all this out. So it is pretty hard to simply crawl underneath and do some measuring.

Thanks again.

I feel ya brother, I'm planning and buying stuff for my 1ton and new drivetrain build while I'm deployed. It's not the easiest thing to do. Hang in there.
