: 1989 Toyota 4Runner Deathrunner
DEATHRUNNER 04-11-2007, 02:49 PM Here's my 1989 4Runner 22re 5speed.
I have put a lot into this truck. It's still in GREAT shape. I have receipts for everything. There is no rust on this truck.
I have listed all of the upgrades and provided photos at :
www.sethmetal.com/deathrunner.htm
I am asking $14,000.00 or best offer.
It is quite comfortable to camp in, very road worthy and quite trail capable.
If you're looking to take it more into the rocks, you coudl easily sell the front suspension to fund an SAS.

get r done 04-11-2007, 04:46 PM Dude not to bag on your runner its nice looking, but 14,000 for a 89 runner with ifs. I highly doubt you will sell it on here for that. The guys on here know what things are worth and I'm afraid there going to just look at it and move on.. You wouldnt even get 14,000 for a 89 with a straight axles, dual cases, lockers front and rear and matching gears...Im sure you put alot of time and money into it but you have to under stand that doesnt mean you will get what you put into it. So if you want to have guys intrested in it, you have to lower your price.. good luck:smokin:

I did say "Or Best Offer" didn't I?
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, especailly not on this board. I'm just trying to get it out anywhere I can.
This is the perfect vehichle for someone wanting a "Do it all" kind of rig. As is, it make a decent desert toy, a fairly capable trail rig, and an excellent expidition type rig.
If someone wanted to get mroe into crawling with it, just part out the front end and an SAS could easily be funded. If someone is more into high speed stuff, small adjustments can be made that way as well.
This truck is straight, pretty clean, loaded, and pretty. This ain't a beat ass old rig. Maybe I won't get 14,000 for it, but that's somewhere to start. Both you and I know, the average person couldn't build this for 14,000.00
Check my specs, then do some price checking, I think you'll see that my asking price isn't too unreasonable. :massey:
JeepinCreep 04-13-2007, 11:51 AM I have seen this rig in action and also know the shop it was built at. It is a top-notch dual sport rig that is worth every penny of the $14k. Good luck on the sale. I know someone who doesnt want just a crawler or has a family will have no problem droppin' a little coin on a good rig.

DEATHRUNNER 04-16-2007, 08:23 AM Monday morning bump.
5,000.00 eh? I bought the truck for 4,500 with a crappy bracket lift on.....I'll think about it.
Rock Toy 04-16-2007, 07:23 PM I'll buy the mattress from you, if you are looking to part it out.
DEATHRUNNER 04-17-2007, 10:55 PM Sorry, not parting it out, it's in perfect running order.
snowforner15 04-18-2007, 03:32 PM Sorry, not parting it out, it's in perfect running order.
the mattress wont affect its running order.. and i get second in line if youll sell the mattress
vintagespeed 04-18-2007, 04:30 PM I'd also like to get in line for the mattress. These other guys are deadbeats, so sell it to me! :flipoff2:
DEATHRUNNER 04-21-2007, 01:31 PM allright, 300.00 and shipping for the mattress.
DEATHRUNNER 05-04-2007, 12:11 PM Still have her.
Had a couple people come check it out, a few offers, but nothing I want to act on yet.
Anyone else?
DEATHRUNNER 05-14-2007, 01:24 PM Bump. Back from vacation and able to show her off again.
bretthayes 05-14-2007, 04:06 PM Sent you a PM..
JeepinCreep 05-14-2007, 09:02 PM WTF?!?! This hasnt sold yet? Maybe some of you dont realize how "dual purpose" this rig is? From Big Bear to the Baja this rig is capable of it all...

It's a cool rig, but I already have a built 4Runner. Bump for a nice looking rig though. My rig is a clean 95 and I'd never ask more than $8k if I sold it. Just suggesting that you might check comparable rigs and price accordingly. You will never recover the investment on mods. You might want to consider trading for what you want, unless cash is neccessary, at which point, the market will dictate what you can recover. Good luck.

I got a so called "dual purpose" stock Piece of shit ford ranger that could do more than that show rig. Go buy some more bolt-ons for your jeep. Oh yea... did you sell that mattress? My dog would love that. I'll give you $100 or a "dual purpose" ford ranger. Good Luck with that 14k.
toywelder 05-15-2007, 05:30 AM man you cali. guys sure are proud of your junk
14K WOW thats a 5K rig here at tops
yep it's clean but wow
Blatant 05-15-2007, 06:34 AM Not one to bag on people's junk, but, seriously, if you get more than 5-6k for that rig, you'll be doing well. Good luck, man.

DEATHRUNNER 05-23-2007, 12:37 PM Thanks for the support guys!
I have nearly 30k invested. I think a 50% return on investment is not the worst place to start.
Around here, 4-5k will get you a decent looking stock runner. Not sure what's it's like in the red states, but that's how it goes out here.
Anyone looking to build this kind of "junk" will know the costs involved. I haven't seen anything quite like this. I have based my price on pickups with similar suspension in worse condition. Mine's clean, sleeps comfortably, and carries 5 passengers.
I'll check into those kickass Rangers, thanks for the tip!
icu_runnin 05-23-2007, 01:13 PM 14k
Look around and see what 14k buys you. Thats a built dual purpose rig, a boat and maybe a ATV :grinpimp:

Just for you to go by, I had and 93 r1 twin turbo rx7, I paid $14,000for it and after about 1year I had put 3 diffrent rotors in it (engine) and alot more stuff, when it was all said and done I had about$35,000 in that thing for real and it still was not quite right, but the moral of the story is I got $6000 for it and I was more than happy to get that. Good luck, but don't get your hopes up.

I know I am a little late on this response... but, I dont see how you can compare a stock (probably 2wd) Ranger to a Long-Travel 4wd Toyota 4-Runner! And don't bother bringing my Jeeps into this, you know nothing of me or what I build! WTF is your problem? Just because you dont agree with the price doesn't mean you have to ruin a possible sale in case someone else does see the value in it. Next time keep your opinions to yourself and don't try to fawk it up for someone else... ASSHAT!!!
