Jay Standish's buggy is one or our most unique rigs yet. It is an all tube buggy that is Toyota at heart. It has a 22RE, toy 5 speed, and dual toy t-cases. It also has Toyota axles front and rear. To keep with the Toyota theme, it has a narrowed Toyota hood and grille with customized Toyota fenders and tailights.

Ya, went and crwled in it the week before it went to calrocks, they did a very nice job on it, and in very short time, not to mention there was zero test time on it before it went on the trailer and south for the both calrocks and arca...

Seabastid! Good call...last time I visited S&N's site it was one of those 'Coming Soon' only things so I wrote it off...

Nice buggy (pad +1 I know but I had to defend myself)

Christ ain't that the truth! Most rigs (mine) that would have been considered fairly ballsy are now look stock compared to all the growth this sport/hobby has brought in the last couple years. I'm light years behind the times I think :D

so if someone supplies the running gear (engine, tranny t-case, shafts, axles and steering, seats, and springs) what do you think it would cost to build such a vehicle? What is the general price range for a built turnkey 2 seater buggy by some of the general shops? (s&N, Roggy/shaffer, avalanche, etc) Anyone know? and what parameters increase/decrease price? material thickness? suspension style (coils versus leaves)?
just wondering what stuff costs

Man whoever came up with that dumb ass comment about if you have to ask you shouldn't attempt it needs to shot in the head. Who here hasn't asked questions and attempted it? If you haven't you are one of those guys that gets left behind in the progression of things and you never learn anything more. It has been my experience that typically the ones who say it are "pros" and if they handed out advice for people to try something they think they would loose business. But still the comment is about the most assinine thing I have every heard in this sport so please refrain from using it.

wow, calm down. he was referring to the guy who was asking about how much would it cost(not if he should attempt it) to get that built, and said if you have to ask, it'll be too much $$$. so chill out, and reread stuff, and i hate hearing stuff like "needs to shot in the head", even if joking, thats"about the most assanine thing i have every heard in this sport so please refrain from using it"---brad

Actually I was referring to the general statement "as the saying goes" deal, not specifically to this reference. Joking, no I wasn't, there's nothing wrong with asking questions and people who think there is have something wrong with them, so beg pardon but I'll keep using it.
