banged up my gas tank good this week end at the con and need to replace it. it is a 85 runner what year can i get a tank off? can it be a truck 2 or 4 wheel drive, what will match?? thanx

Every carbed truc that I have ever seen has had seemingly the same tank. Cant speak for fourunners but if you find a truck tank that looks like your old 4runner tank, chances are it is good to go.

Another suggestion...

Maybe it would be a good time to switch to a fuel cell? A plastic fuel cell is less easy to tear/ puncture than a metal one...

Tanks on longbed trucks are larger than shortbed trucks
(17 vs 12 gal I think)

The fill pipe location on a Runner tank is slightly different from a truck tank.

I have one from a 85 runner, I think, I parted one out and I have 2 tanks and 3 skids, let me know if ya want it...cheap;)

Assuming your truck is EFI, make sure you get an EFI tank. The mounting flange for the fuel pump in the EFI tanks is larger than the carb tanks. A carb tank would have to be modified to accept your in-tank fuel pump. :nuke:

Carb tank, U should have said U were EFI:flipoff2: sorry....

any one else have a EFI tank 4 sell or a good place in sac aria to get one

I think I have an 86 tank. Should be the same. You might have to use your pump though. Let me know.
