starting problem

97 f250 460, manual. the truck will not start immediately...i turn the key and the accessories come on, but the truck won't start. the starter isn't clicking, and the engine isn't trying to turn over, just nothing happens. the battery is good, alternator good, wires good. is there a switch that is engaged when the clutch is pressed? i'm thinking that the problem is there, that the switch isn't engaging properly when i press the clutch. the truck always starts after a few tries though. any ideas?

have you checked your starter solenoid?

My truck had the same problem. The previous owner fixed it by hooking up a switch that jumped the solenoid. Its okie, but it worked. :toothless:
