I am going to regear my dana 30 and 35 from 3.07 to 4.56 in 2 weeks, I am having my friend who is a mechanic do it for me, thing is he works on big trucks and might not have the tools for a light duty axle. I just want to make sure I have all tools an info we will need before we start.

Here are my questions.

I want to make sure I have everything we need to get the job done. I ordered ring and pinion gears, master install kits, new carriers and a new speedo gear.

A list of the specialty tools we will need.

I found a service manual here http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?c...f%7E5%7EAXL%7E for the dana 30 but I cant find a dana 35 manual, does anyone know where I can find that info?

Any advice that may be helpful would be a great help.

Thanks
Dan

If your buddy is a mechaninc, find an 8.8 to swap in and have him set that up under your jeep, you will be much better off with that than the turdy5

If you are going to 4.56 you probably have 35" tires, no?

Ditch the turdy-five. Period.

As a fellow newb I must refer you to the "READ this before posting you newbie fawkers" thread

Specifically, items 4, 5, 14, 28, and finally 81 :flipoff2:

You'll need to replace the cases also. Im almost positive there is a carrier break somewhere between 3.07 and 4.56

That alone makes it not worth the money.
