My current 20' trailer works well, very well in fact, tows like a dream, but its 20', which makes it hard to maneuver and allot of wasted deck/size with only a single rig on it.
So I'm thinking of 'down sizing' to say a 16'er which would fit my current needs much better, hopefully be a little lighter. I also want to upgrade to 5or 6K axles (over my current 3500's) and tilt deck. I feel over all this would be a much more functional size for me hauling my truck, the occasional car, bobcat, mini-trackhoe ect.
I've been eye-balling my neighbors trailer he got with his pro-street camaro. Its the same 2x4 construction mine is (mine got some extra under-bracing), simple design, nice tilt, good over-all size. However I'm thinking to make used of the 5 or 6K axles I'm going to need to beef it up a little and add an adjustable coupler since I tend to tow with a variety of vehicle. What are your thoughts, suggestions.
I want to keep it light, it will be a wood deck. And I'm going to incorporate a similar 'trailer jack' tilt like this one runs for a manual tilt option but do it a little cleaner and with a bit heftier jack.
