Finally worked up the money to buy my new project, a 89' FJ-62, (had it before this but now its offically mine) and I can't decide whether to swap out the L6 or try to just boost its power. It seems to be in good condition, but when u start it up sometimes it makes a knocking sound, and when u accelerate hard or starting up something rattles, sounds like thin metal against somethin hard. Jus wonderin if there is anything else power-wise you can do to the 3F-E, other than the usual headers and air filters. I was thinking of an electric fan and water pump to save some power, any ideas? or just swap, thanks

What are you planning to do with the truck? I was happy with my 2F until I sprung it over and went to 35"s then with a roof rack and loaded down for a week on the road back and forth to Moab the decision was made. MORE POWER:) The I figured while adding more power I wold help my crawl and add a doublar well when all is said and done I have spent way to much money but the truck will be basicly brand new and just the way IO want it. Oh, well I plan on getting a 40, so Elanore is gonna be a daily-driver and occasional tow rig.
