TRANSMISSION is working fine temp gauge would max out and fluid would come from the overflow only when you hit a bump though, also the fluid was not hot. Replaced temp sensor, gauge is working fine now fluid still overflows. It is not a constant leak from the overflow, and is not as severe as it was before I replaced the sensor. it is a the 6speed auto I believe. Thanks for any Info you may have .

It would be a 5spd TorqueShift transmission.
The factory transmission gauge is TOTALLY WORTHLESS except for, when it reaches "hot" you need to rebuild your transmission.

(Replaced temp sensor, gauge is working fine now fluid still overflows.) The gauge was saying hot I felt the fluid by hand it was barely warm the sensor crapped out on it

Ditto, install a real gauge first, you might be overheating it and not know it. It has an external filter near the radiator, have you changed it? When was the last fluid change? What color was it? (not on the dipstick-in the drain pan)

This is a friends truck she took it to a mechanic for the gauge going to max then back to normal it was there for 2 weeks. Picked the truck up the guy working on it just finished said he tested the truck and was having no problems. The guy said he Hooked a computer and got no codes. I noticed it dripping tranny fluid when we stopped for gas. I drove it around cycled each gear worked fine set the truck in neutral checked the fluid it was fine figured the guy overfilled it. There was no shifting problems driving home, suddenly Temp gauge started going hot then back to normal again drove the truck a total of about 15 miles had it towed to Tahoe. I took it to a tranny shop here in Tahoe replaced the Temp sensor tested was working fine fluid level was fine, when I returned it to her it started leaking again not always though. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and does this mean there is an internal leak and the tranny needs to be rebuilt.
