Is this doable with a '99 ctd. I found a wrecked ctd and want to use it on a pass side truck. I do have a 518 core tranny for the swap as well.

Also, can someone tell me what CAD is?

Yeah, I did it. I got a Dodge 205, pre...93? anyway you'll have to make a new seal but that's no biggie.

Same problem, too LOL

CAD: center axle disconnect, ie big fat POS.

Sounds like a cool tow rig project...we need pictures when you get the truck... What are you putting this Cummins in?

My buddy just put a 2nd Gen 12v Cummins in a '89 Chevy crew cab. He told me a Dodge 205 that was behind a Getrag will bolt right up to a NV4500. He opted to modify the Chevy 205 since he already had it and finding dodge 205's that were behind a Getrag is kind of tough. You would be looking for a 89-93 NP205 that was in a Cummins diesel manual transmission truck.

I'm building a hummer kit car from scratch. I've driven diesels for some 15 years now all Fords and my presently own a excursion. I began to do research on this hummer and found so much great info on the cummins. I could not believe how fantastic their engine were. I have a family of six and need something that can tow trailers, sleds and a boat.

My donor is a 3/4 ton chevy and had no desire to rebuilt the engine/tranny and get low mileage out of. Cummins was the answer. I'll get pics further down the road.

My specs right now are:
12K chrome T Maxx winch
seating for 6
weight is around 4400 lbs
soft top
custom bumpers, front and overhead tubular storage structures
toggle switches and a built in cooler for trips.
