Henry and Henry are having some problems getting together for the final edit. I would not look for it until the end of the year at the earliest.

I am sure HC will jump in with the details, but from what I heard they had to switch to an offshore publisher, which has put them behind schedule. Henry, correct me if I am remembering wrong.

We've had a HUGE delay, for the following reasons: 1. After 9/11, the printer that we'd contracted went belly-up and we decided to go with an overseas printer. It's a much higher-quality printer (I have a sample book sitting on my lap right now), but they have a tigher schedule and only limited windows for our project. it's also more expensive, which also set us back.

2. Initially, the book was going to be very visual, lots of pictures, not a lot of text. As the project grew, we received more historically-relevant information AND a lot more images than we expected, including some very early stuff. We expanded the length of the book, but this resulted in some layout delays (thousands of pictures to choose from). We've also had problems scheduling interviews with some of the founding members, and that took up time.

In short, we over-estimated our ability to finish this project within the initial time-frame, and the project ballooned into a more serious, in-depth book. We're still working on it and trying to get it done for the end of the summer, so that printing gets done by early fall.

I apologize for the delay, I realize that people have entrusted us with their pre-orders. If anyone knows, it's me, I've spent several thousands dollars of my own money travelling around the US in pursuit of this project and I have a vested interest in seeing it delivered ASAP.

You're entitled to bag, man, after all, you paid! I too think that it's going to be much better than we initially intended....
