if i was to do one, it would be a 22re yota. light, and can be built
with decent power.

[Yoda voice]Much to learn, have you, young one.....
The way of the MUD leads to grit in all things....
...leads to destruction it does....
TORQUE is the way - low rpm torque.
To the dune-buggies leave the turbochargers.
Add you to the 22re the Toyoda 5 speed & dual t-cases, one containing the 4.7:1 gears,
and a Jedi will you be.[/Yoda voice]:D

i think i'm going to look for a 3.4L camaro engine and use an adapter plate that zuki-moo is getting for his 2.8L swap........ it'll have more than enough power for our thick mud and slipery hills and i'll gear it to about 80:1 so when i come to the little rocks there are i can play........:D

well i'v been giving it some thought............mostly cause my nabour said that "I" wouldn't be able to do it........:D ......... what EXACTLY would i have to do to put a EFI in???? like just say i went with the 2.8 EFI........ i get the adapter plate and mount the engine all up........ but i'd need to get the computer for that engine and do i use JUST the wires that go from the comp. to the engine???? or is there alot more to do than that???? now that he thinks i can't do it i want to............:D :D ..........

Well when i did my swap....I took the chiltons and went wire by wire from the ecu...matched everything up and put it all into one harness.......Not too hard to do! Just time consuming!
While your at it, take the fan off of the motor, slide it forward a couple inches to gain you some clearance in the back...then put an electric fan on the radiator!

so it would be just the wires front the comp. to the engine????? and some simple wiring to the alt. and starter, and well all the same as a cabed and the comp wires......

Pretty much all it is....Figure out what you dont need from your harness....take it out....Figure out what you dont need from the new one, and tie in the dash part of it....and you are in business!

good, then i think i'll look for a EFI then when it comes time to swap....... that'll be afterzuki-fest, don't think i'll have thetimeto do that and all the stuff i'm trying to do now finished in time............. i'll just get all my shock mounts, new front bumper andditch the missing links up front and maybe gears if i find any.............
If money and time were no object. Cummins Turbo B3.3-85
215 ft lbs of torque at 1600 rpm's, in a box that is 28x22x31.
