Hey,
Juts seeing if anyone out there has done a rear track bar on a new taco, a D-cab (01-04). I just want to see what route people went. Looking to get rid of my axel rap!! After looking at it(underside of my Tacoma), it looks like the only way to do it right is to remove the cross member that holds the center yoke for the driveshaft, remove the exhaust and make new cross member with a track bar link mount, and new mount for the gas tank. Because they are all in the way, (the exhaust, gas tank). Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

PS: And yes I put my red star to use and tried to do some thread searches and not much came up.

Thats cool, haven't really looked at it much or heard much feedback on them. I'll hopefully be making my own someday

I was just asking because I was thinking about getting one myself. I'm thinking that I may be getting more axle wrap than I should be. . . .

It hangs a little below the driveline - good for protecting the driveline....bad for the trac bar. I used buds weld on first and it ended up cracking the shit out of my housing. His weld on kit is not beefy enough. The trac bar also had to be beefed up it was bent by the second run. After getting the housing zipped up I got the bolt on vs. - my 2nd big mistake. That set-up ended up busting studs off of my 3rd member. This was after almost falling off by the time I got out of the con - studs missing 3rd full of water....I should have stoped then. The bolt on peice now has a nice s bent to it and the trac bar has a nice bow. They are in my side yard where they belong. Oh and don't take this thread wrong not intended to Slam Bud, just give my experiences with his trac-bar. - Buds a great guy and a good guy to do bussiness with. I just don't think they have the kind of wheeling there that we do in AZ.
I think the kit could be made to hold up and or modified to work - it's just not there right now.

WOW thanks for the input on buds products. I mean looking his prices I know that I would be able to build my own that would be a lot stronger and for cheaper. And they do look geto especially the bolt on one. I need to address my axel wrap issues though and hopefully I will be able to build on in the near future and post some pics of it. What about you AZTBob? Are you going to make your own or have you found another one that will hold up to rock crawling abuse that we put our tacos through?
