ive been reading and searching and havent found anything that will help me yet. just got a 86 comache and would like to swap out the 4.0l it has alot of miles on it and would like to swap in a bigget stronger 5.2l or a 5.9l. are the trannies the same? does anybody make motor mounts? or should i just swap in a 5.0l with a np435 and 205 setup????????? new to jeeps so any advice would help.

Try getting all the parts out of a Grand Cherokee that came with a 5.2L. The frames in the MJ and the ZJ are very close if not the same.

the thing im wandering is are the bellhousings the same and can i reuse my 4.0l stuff. i have a 5speed right now In order to run your tranny you will need a bellhousing from a 98 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 V6 and AX 15 tranny.

i havent even gotten the truck yet but i did get ahold of a wrecked dekota thats 4wd and a v8 im going to use everything from this for that jeep. wish me luck and ill keep everyone here posted. never delt with dodge or jeep b4 in my life ive been a pure ford guy and i have a couple badass rangers but im up for the challenge.
