Best advice you'll get: buy a complete car, look for 89-93 then 87-88.
Sillyneck 05-28-2002, 09:53 PM what do you want to know....go over each thing and come up w/ a specific serise of questions and me and jeff (h8monday) will have no prob solving each quandry ;)
bigdude 05-29-2002, 07:38 AM Hey guys just wanted to chime in also. Can you tell me everything I'll need to do to build my Jeep? Thanks, and please be specific so I don't have to figure out anything on my own:rolleyes:
schuss 05-29-2002, 08:34 AM what I'm wondering is why hot dogs come in packs of 10 and hot dog buns in packs of 12. I really need to know this k thnx. :flipoff2:
payton 05-29-2002, 11:03 AM ok sory bout the cap locks..like i said im wanting to get everything up front.. have it ready to drop this winter.. i know theres alwys sum lil sumthing but ive been looking at
http://www.zandm.com/index.htm
can i keep the double sump.. and as far as tranny does a termac stand up tothe abuse.. i know saleen uses termac.. a modified verson.. or should i go ahead and use a nv4550 with a atlas combo. if so this set up will require body lift or beating the bottom of my tub correct?
as far as wanting sum one else to build my rig no.. but i dont like going half cocked and fucking up more shit then needs be..
i like having a plan.. and following it..
and yes i know theres guys here thats done it b4 and actually know what there doing .. so why not get there input and find out what to look for and what not to do....
im not the type of person who goes at shit half cocked..
im just look at info that will save me time and lil hints that will make my swap a much more pleasnt experince..

Well you can't expect to get little hints that help when you ask such broad questions like this...
WHAT ALL WILL I NEED SO I CAN GET EVERYTHING UP FRONT
 You're contradicting your above "half-cocked" statement by asking questions like the one I listed. A true person who "did not go at sh!t half cocked" would never ask questions like that :shaking:
TexasBlake 05-29-2002, 11:50 AM try google too. when i was thinking about doing this. I found about 5 pages with step by step instructions, as well as problems they faced with the install. Just search all kinds of different things like "5.0 Jeep" "5.0 YJ" "5.0 Wrangler" or maybe even use 302 instead of 5.0.

Z and M is for yuppies w/ $$$$
you want the double sump! oils at all kinds of angles better as far as I can tell.
TREMEC is the trans you speak of. this is the standard 5 speed found after the 5.0 in many stangs (avoid it) It'll hold up but the 1st gear is higher than your first in the 5 speed. If you can afford a klune V and 4:1's for the case then go ahead w/ the tremec cause it'll give great hwy range. If you know how to take care of an Auto then the AOD that also is found behind the 5.0 is a great trans. Keep it serviced and a huge cooler it it'll run for a long time. The first gear is great in them and it is simple to adapt to a 300 or 231.
If you can afford the 4500 and atlas then go for it.
If you can get the whole car for the swap GET IT! I used all kinds of stuff....all the wiring, you can use the cruise control, the fuel lines, the top of the fuel tank and fuel pump w/ holder and all. it's just nice to have the car because it's cheap to get a crashed one w/ low miles and you can sell all the parts to finance the swap. I sold everything I could and made 2800 off a car I bought for 900.

One note, the stock tranny was a T5, also the T5 worldclass I think in some stangs.
The TREMEC is an aftermarket Tranny and can hold up to alot! I don;t know of a kit to adapt it to a T-case, and for the money get a 4500. My brother has a has a 650HP stang and would eat T5's when he was at 300+ HP. Now with the TREMEC he only has to re-build it once a year.

Sillyneck 05-29-2002, 08:42 PM barbed fittings and fuel injection clamps or 2 hose clamps works fine as well
whoops about the tremec thing...not sure what I was thinking. All my friends have tremecs and it messes w/ my head when I think stock :D

Could you explain more? Who carries them?
Also, for a custom intake fuel pump, do I need special submergible EFI line? (Or does regular EFI hose work) Line will go between the submerged pump and hard line on the sending unit.
