no one said every truck needs a d60
just every real truck that want to run bigger then 35" tires reliably

I joined the crowd using snapped d44 inner shaft splines for shifter handles

nice dude 44's are the shit mine hasnt had one problem, and im not even alloy you will be fine. What size tires are you running? the height doesnt look bad. If you're linked front and rear i'd definitely recommend anti-roks or a similar set up

nice truck man. mines been done for two years now and im happy to see so many of these being built now. my 44 holds up fine with 38 12.50 15's with a welded front diff. you'll be fine. oh and plus mine has a sbf and a 435

Nah. I just hated breaking shit everytime out. If you drive like a sally you'll be okay though.
A d44 under a ranger is ALOT different than a d44 under a fullsize with v-8 power. So drink bleach you taint licking sore assed noob.

alright thanks for the props and the flamage. now i would love to post better pics but its fuckin shity outside. as for how tall it is i know. the coilovers arent under it it will sit 1.5- 2" lower in the front and the back was just jacked up with a floor jack. this is not a crawler! it is a big dependable hunting rig. i have a yota on rocks and 46 claws for crawln. all i want this for is to hunt and play in the snow with. as for axles ya a little light but the rear is a big bearing 9 inch 31spl with yukon shaft arb and disc. the front is hp44 with alloy shafts and longs u's. sure its not a 60 but if i destroy it i have one on the floor that can go in in a weekend. but hopefully mon or tues ill get better pics. thanks

gettin there....

few little things...Love the engine crossmember..
the trackbar bracket to the frame needs more beef...mine's going to get a kicker that ties it BACK into the engine crossmember (not stock like ours..only not as NICE as yours)...to take some of the stress off the frame and welds..

grade 8's for final assembly..

are those welded in inserts for the steering??..cleanem up and get PERFECT welds on them...(safety first)

I'll get pix of mine..but drop the brakeline down on the axle..use a rear brakeline off the ranger..and your splitter on the driverside..and its all the stock fittings...connect the drop softline to the hardline where it splits at the driveside..down to the axle (re-using the line that goes across)..then you can use stock lines at the axles..(its less expensive..and keeps the lines out of the tires..(my problem))...BAD photo chop of how I did mine..

other than that...the noflex springs in the front..and the rear jacked up to make it the right height..the comealong (tooke me a min to figure out why there was a hook on the diff)...yer there man!!:D

94stepsideford
04-24-2007, 07:35 AM

no, but since over half the stuff here is related to old rusted out FSBs and f150s w/ 31s and help my sport-trac won't start, most of the board probably shys away even though there are some good buildups to comment on/discuss. Basically us ranger guys want our cookies :flipoff2: .

Would BTF have their reputation and image if they spent most of their time on $400 lift installs on rusted out old pavement pounders? People don't drive from across the country just to see a place specializing in breaking rusty bolts loose.

Maybe there isn't enough demand and cleaning this place up would cause the already slow forum to shrink even more but it is a hardcore rockcrawling board.
