That won't buy any SW products ?

I have this thing since they were so willing to sell us down the river with the Feds when they were screaming about safe guns and such. I know they didn't want to be sued and made deals to stay out of the courts. At least thats how I remember it.
Just one of my many quirks. Anyone else ?

I guess it helps that they don't make anything I want.

I know that you are not alone in your opinion but I haven't seen anything in writing that shows that S&W is taking a financial hit.

I know my action on its own won't make a hill of beans. Its just the right thing to do. (in my mind)

Edit; it just bugs me that everyone seems to have forgoten what they did. I'm not sure I could even explain it right myself.

Maybe this will help....

Smith Wesson Agreement (http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/comment032000b.html)

IMO, they are some screaming handgun deals at gun stores and through private sales. SW manufactured so many variations of semi-auto pistols for LEO and private use that the market is full of them.

I had a 5906 Memphis police turn in that was a good gun...but it was DAO with a ridiculously heavy trigger pull. Still, $300 for a SS semi-auto with a 2 hi-caps and Novak sights and an accurate sidearm was a great deal IMO.

At that time S&W was owned by a company that was headquartered in UK, IIRC. It has since been sold to an American company and those deals were voided. At least that's how I remember it.

Why Ruger?

Gus

They were not voided. There was a push for the new management to say that they would not honor the BS agreement that the previous co entered into with the housing authority.

Why not Ruger?

Bill Ruger was the cocksucker that pushed for mag caps and bans. "No honest man needs more than 10 rounds." Fuck him in his grave. He wanted the capacity to be limited to 15 rounds to even the playing field business wise. I don't care how much he spent out of his pocket fighting guns laws and BS that the anti's threw at us and him, he caused far too much damage to the cause.

Then they too are added to my personal list.

I hold nothing against the new holding company that owns S&W for the actions of the old holding company. I'm thinking about buying one of the new M&P's in 9mm. I will get it with the mag disconect because I have to (and remove it) and without the lock.

Triaged, if you disable any safety device on a firearm, and then use it in self defence, you may find yourself in some shit with the courts.
You may be better off not owning anything with a magazine disconect.

PRK has a list of guns that are acceptable to be purchased by its subjects. The list has NOTHING TO DO WITH SAFETY BECAUSE COPS ARE EXEMPT FROM IT. No new pistols can be added to the list unless they have a loaded chamber indicator (aka hole in top of barrel) and a mag disconnect.

1) The pistol is sold in free states in both configurations (w/ & w/o mag disconnect).
2) I have very little chance of obtaining a CCW.
3) It is not against PRK law to remove the mag disconnect.
4) A mag disconnect is not a safety device
and last but not least
5) I have a very good chance of finding myself in shit with the courts if I use any type of firearm in self-defense.

I am sure about #3. But just because it is not against the law does not mean that I could not be prosecuted for it by one of PRK's 58 DAs' (see #5).

#4 was slightly tongue-in-cheek.

I was kinda iffy on that, but wound up with a used .38 needing a special screw, called them up, they expressed it to me FREE. No BS, just awesome customer service, no ?s asked. I didn't hesitate to buy S&W when looking for a carry gun for my GF.
