Any idea about how to make the 700r4 work with the stock automatic linkage of a CJ7 ( came with TF999)
As you know, the TF999 has a flat linkage desing, and the 700 has a vertical desing ( I mean the lever that actuates the shifting in the case) .
So, how can a I make it work?
Defently I do not want to purchase an aftermarket shifter !!

Any help, appreciate:confused:

I didnīt find anything. Finally I installed a B&M shifter in the center console.
Anyway, some day I will try to attach the B&M cable to the stock column shifter of the CJ. Thereīs a company that sell a kit for that swap (www.ididit.com)

Good luck

How about getting the column from a CJ that came with a TH400? Look for '76-'79 Q-trac CJs. Maybe it's possible to adapt those parts to work with the 700R4.

If you want a column shift, why not get a column out of a car or pickup that had a 700 in in, or get a floor shift from a car with a 700...

I converted mine to a floor shifter with a universal shifter kit. They come with enough bar stock and plates to fab up any kind of linkage you might need. Took about 1.5 hours and the shifter/ball is plain enough that it looks stock. Most people think it's a manual.

I think that svaras is interested in column shifting his 700r4, not buying one of the hundreds of aftermarket 700r4 floor shifters.
