i recently bought a dana 60 front and 14bolt rear for my k5 blazer and thought it would pretty much bolt right in, which obviously aint happening.

just wondering what the total price of everything would be to install them. cause figure i need cross over stearing, different rims, probably new brakes, have to move the spring purches and shock mounts on back axle, and whatever else you can think of to do the swap?

I'm curious how you can spell obviously, yet the proper spelling of steering and perches eludes you.

Price up the new perches. They are not that much money. You could order the shock mounts at the same time. Crossover steering will be a wee bit expensive to do properly and safely. Wheels aren't that much of a challenge. They can be had from just about anywhere, depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend. Brakes will require a master cylinder able to move the amount of fluid needed for the new caliper pistons. You can get cheap remans at the auto parts stores. Shouldn't be into it for 5-600 with the right amount of searching. Sell your old stuff to help finance the new parts.

LOL transport it here to the shop & I'll do it for $1g....& I'll buy the parts (well, or make em) HEHE you gonna get some funky stock(ish) rims though & some flat bias ply 31's.

Serious, you don't HAVE to have cross over steer to get up & rolling. if you got a grinder, just grind off yer old perches & slide em to where they need to be.....hint, cut em off, put axle under truck, center axle, set pinion angle, weld perches. & stock 1/2 ton Master cyl WILL WORK, but a little extra pushy on the pedal till you can affort $35 for a 3/4 ton one, might as well replace the proportioning valve at the same time. We did the swap (14B & D44) in a blazer & stock Master cyl works just fine. E-brake cable WILL need to be adjusted. Also, U joints are avail at most parts houses that go from 1/2 ton drive line, to 3/4 ton axle......ehhh....1410 to 1480....ehhh...I think....ish....well don't quote me on the #'s, but you get the idea.

LOL just turn to Sirus ch 20, & turn vol know to just before distorion level, & do not leave garage until it is done......in other words, don't bitch out. With some tools YOU CAN do the swap. & we aint on the forums here cause we are spelling bee masters, we are here cause we dig 4x's, so fuc k proper spelling.

Amen....it took two weeks to get my SAS done which is along the same lines of what you're doing. Most of that was just waiting for parts, but we were in the garage with or without parts. It just keeps you going on it. Best thing for the u-joints is to measure the yoke on the pinion and bring the old joint in with you. They should be able to go from there. I always get dirty looks from parts counter monkeys when I say 1310. They like specifics.

if you have a one ton dana 60 from a chevy, it more than likely has the 1310 ujoint on it already, so your front driveshaft may bolt right up. you may need a conversion joint for the rear driveshaft.

front shocks should bolt on. while youre changing axles, think about whether or not you want to lift the truck.

Dont go adding 3 shocks per wheel, either.

i put my one ton stuff on in one weekend, by myself. just be sure to get some quality jackstands, that way you dont have people visiting you in the hospital.

thanks for the advice. yeah i guess i can do it. what the heck else do i have to do around here anyways.

yeah the front axle uses that smaller ujoint so the front should just bolt on. without any problems. also there is a ubolt shop in town so i can have those made, they are really cheep too.

my truck currently has a 6inch skyjacker lift with like those two thick bottom leaves (sorry dont know proper name) and a block in the back. can i use that set up with the D60 or would that be bad.

yeah id be lucky to get it done in one weekend, i remember even swaping over my 1/2tons from another truck took like a total of 8-10 hours by myself having to run and get ujoints made or whatever. id be happy to get it done in like 3 weekends

anyone know who sells cheep ass 15inch 10 wide 8 lug rims?
