its funny to me that you take the time out of your day to be a complete DICKHEAD yet you dont have an answer to my question. my advice to u Mr. hardcore if you dont have an answer to the solution why be part of the problem then again you do drive a new jeep according to your photo so i wouldnt expect you to have an answer about a real jeep! and yes tommorrow is tuesday glad to see you know your days of the week its nice to see they teach you something in jersey other then how to be a dickhead.

I was simply telling you you put this question in the wrong section ASSCLOWN:flipoff2: DOnt get butthurt at me because you posted this in the wrong section, Go back to JU

The speedo in your jeep is cable driven so look at that check to see if thats broken, And with the fuel and temp it sounds like the power wire is grounded out and blowing your fuse

you got a short to ground i imagine thats why those dont work and ur blowing ur fuse. use the ole voltmeter and find it

See he said the same thing but he was much nicer about it, I on the other hand have to be a dick when someone asks a question that can be figured out by using the FSM in the HARDCORE section, Thankyou and have a wonderful day:D

maybe im crazy but i dont see any black text on your original post and a electrical tech question isnt hardcore? and ty tj lover i used the voltmeter and we couldnt find a problem but what i did notice was that on my old speedo there is no resistor's for the temp and fuel gauge but the new one has them built in. replacing the old speedo ill keep you posted!

You have to highlight the text at the bottom of his post to see it. Thats why you can't see black text on a black backround!

new speedo and new temp sending unit and the temp guage still goes all the way to hot when i turn the key, ohms at the guage are 27 so i dont think there is a ground but even without the 3amp cluster assortment fuse everything but the temp guage works right i think there might be a hard wire issue. next step i ordered a painless. nobody can seem to figure it out and 3 different mechs have checked it out.

Have you checked the sender?

bulldog65
04-30-2007, 07:48 PM
yes i put a brand new one in and i also tested the old one 22ohms at the sender wire when i remove the wire the needle goes all the way cold when i put it on it goes all the way hot. A mech. friend says the difference in 6 ohms might be the issue but even with no fuse in the cluster assortment everything is still workin without the fuse. i believe it may be hard wired somewhere. painlees wiring harness arrives tomm. i rather replace the whole system and put it in myself so i know whats up.

Look at the back of the cluster real careful. When I rewired my dash I had one wire hooked up to the wrong lug on the temp gauge and it would do the same thing. The neg are tied together and got confused. But, 3 mechanics can't figure it out? Werd.

I don't even read this section of pirate anymore. Seems like every post is just a fight about whether something is hardcore.

the temp and fuel gauge need to be grounded. Sounds like you lost your ground when you pulled your dash. To test you can run a ground wire to your speedo housing and see if that helps
