I thought this was the section since this is outdoor sport's and recreation. Anyone into RC Nitro Plane's? I just bought one yesterday and thought I would see who else is into this.

I'm going to sell one soon. A basic .40 trainer that I haven't flown more than a dozen times in the 10 years since I built it.

Try rcuniverse.com ... It's probably the biggest forum for this type of thing. ;)

I buy the $20 foam ones to use as targets, I figure at least when I crash that one I got multiple fun out of it and no dent in my pocket

I have a trainer that has about 10 hours on it since bought new 7-8 years ago...I actually ran the engine a few weeks ago when I moved it out of a closet...

I had a .40 trainer. I flew it twice, I crashed it both times. I sold it. haha, I think I'll just stay with my nitro cars, they tend to survive crashes better.

I tried building one many years ago but gave up when it got a little too complicated and my patience was low one night and never touched it since then.

I've been to a few shows and seen some really nice planes and would love to get back into it but I think I have enough expensive hobbies right now.

We used to have a guy come to one of the ranges with a few 6 footers, just before the end of the year, and we needed to expend the rest of the ammo.

We would have the entire company lined up by squads, across the range. Each person had multiple cases of ammo that needed to be expended. :D

This guy would fly his planes across the range trying to out fly the barrage of lead. We would take turns, a squad from each side of the range firing at will , as soon as the plane crossed over, or close to crossing over the midline. 60's SAW's, M16's & 9mm pistols all firing at this guy's planes. :smokin:
