What is the general consensus on Currie? Especially their axles.

actually when I priced rear dana 60s for my cj-7 Currie was the cheapest between trui-county, hicks 4x4 and dynarape:flipoff2: My rear standard cut dana 60 with 35 spline shafts, detroit and drum brakes was $2300 plus $200 for shipping. The others were right around there at $2500 or so and Dynarape was gonna be like $2800 or something.

I chose that route because I needed a custom width and I needed it fast, I coudn't take the time to narrow it myself...although as it ended up that may have been faster:rolleyes: If I was going to do it again from scratch I would get a wider front dana 44 and get a junkyard rear for half the price:skull:

Personally speaking, John has been great to me/us at CalROCS, and that has nothing to do with kthem letting Kevin Hawkins drive the old rocky road jeep in our mod stock class. I'm talking about needing something/anything from parts to stringer banners, John has always come thru.

Ps no they are not sponsors of CalROCS.....yet!

I have nothing but good things to say about Currie. I had them make a D60 for my 4Runner and it was on time and perfect in every detail. Noithing has went wrong with it in 2years and no I havent be able to break my 35 spline axles.......... Thats my personal experience and they are nice guys in person.

My experience with them is they are not the cheapest nor the most expensive. They have however done everything they ever told me they would and their delivery was exactly when they said it would be. I also have no complaints about quality. When buying new I'd not hesitate to use them again.

I had them build me a HP dana 60 rear. Got a fair price and it fit perfect. I have also had them spline warn blanks several times. They always deliver as promised. Cant complain.:)

Just don't waste time with their 9" s and you'll be fine Ryan. For a long while there, they were all about selling ford 9"'s to wheelers. Recently they saw the light, and have started selling more 60's, as well as putting 60's in their comp rig.

I wonder how long before they start selling Rockwells??

Im wondering about the rockwells project too? It could be a worthwild venture. And yes, staying away from the 9 inch was in my plans, thanks to a thrifty axle connoisseur named Lee.

I've bought stuff from them over the years (never whole axles or anything--just little stuff like an SYE, odds and ends...) and I have always come away with a positive opinion of their workmanship and their customer service.

That said, I think their axles are too expensive (at least for me anyhow). But so are everybody else's...

HTH,
Jake

I had their SYE kit on my wrangler and a 44 with discs (back when putting a 44 in a jeep was all you would ever need) I had exactly zero problems with any of their stuff and just as everyone has stated everything fit the first time. Maybe a little pricey but good work.
