I know ashman runs rams in the rear powered by air, and I searched and couldn't find much on this. Why don't you see more of them? From my understanding, they would act like ajustable air shocks. Except 1/8 of the cost. Is there anymore info out there? If ashman could chime in and shed a little light on the subject, pros and cons, that would be great.

On my build up index there is a link to a thread talking about the rams.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261171

I have $1700 into my front links and coilovers, and only have about $550 into my rear links and rams. I cant say My rear feals better then the front when haulin ass, but Ive run it for 3 years with no problems. :flipoff2:

Disadvantages is weight, size, and the need for external shocks.
Advantages cheap, adjustable height and spring rate.

We were wheelin all weekend, you might find some actions pics or video of the rams, not many pics loaded yet but we just got back at 10pm last night.

I was thinking about doing something like C rocks set up, but instead of air bags I would use rams.

Greg's is airbags on top of a 1/4 elip setup.
To use air rams on a link or 1/4 elip it will have alot of leverage. so you will eighter need LOTs more pressure or a much larger diameter Ram.

The airbags are huge like 8in diameter so with low pressure they can compensate for the compounded pressure created by the leverage of a link or 1/4elip mount. I dont know how practical a huge 8in diamate 6in stroke ram mounted on a link or 1/4elip would work?

If you have that much rear flex Id recommend a rear suck down winch to help controll it.. look at this we ran back in 2004...
