Well I have an oppertunity to buy a Dana 60 front and a Dana 80 back out of a 1978 dodge pickup.
My question is, would it be difficult to put these rears into a 1978 chevy 3/4 ton? Will spring pearches line up, will driveshaft yokes match... that kind of stuff.
I am getting these 2 rears for $400 so it is a good deal but only if they fit in my truck???
thanks

they can be made to fit.
I have d60 and d70 from 90 dodge

you say ... "made to fit" so there is work that needs to be done before hand. Like moving the spring perches and shock mounts?
also does it sound correct that a dana 80 would be in a 78 dodge? others tell me no
thanks

A 78 Dodge would have a D60 in the rear if it is a 3/4 ton.. A 1 ton would have a D70.. I dont think the D80 came till Dodge started using the Cummins..

thanks.... the guy told me that they are 1 1/2 ton rears..... so I will see if he will give them to me for $400 first... then worry about it all later.. hell I could sell the rears for more than that...
