Rick and I, checking flex. I think he needs a taller stump, I think I need a smaller one.

Too much room in the wheelwell? I think not.

looks good guys.

Rick, do you have plans to soften up the front end so it will do some work too? The rear end works so well that the front is getting really lazy and giving you really unbalanced flex.

it'd be nice if the body didn't lean so much, get more stuff/droop in the front.

Still, it works damn good. Nice work. :D

From your write up, where are the pics? So much for keeping the rare hooper mobile in perfect condition :flipoff2:

I don't have any plans to soften the front but I hope it does. Maybe remove a spring clamp or 2. Not changing much until the re arch sag is done.
FWIW I like the front a bit stiffer than the rear. Rig is more predictable that way. Needs to soften up some though.:)

No, no, you have it backwards. It is all beat up right now. Someday it will be pristine again, when i get an ugly rig like yours to beat on so i don't have to worry about the dents and such :D

Forgot to take pics of the dent. Same dent, same spot, nothing new. just pull the access cover, reach in and pop it out again.

If you can do that then it's not a real dent :p

It's a dent, just not a crease ;)

Looks like the front end rides a bit stiff (compared to the back) ~ Little Mule was the same way, I had the guy who owns it now remove a leaf in the front packs...he said that helped allot....

Looks like you guys had a great time. I love seeing those 80/800's built!

Hoop, maybe you could answere a question about Rick's rig for me. The first picture shows his rear disk brake rotor way inside... as if he only has an inch backspacing or something. Does he have trouble bashing the rotor on rocks?

You know, as I followed Rick around looking at his backside all day, I was kind of thinking the same thing. He didn't come even close to tagging them on anything the day we were out, and he had them set up that way for NWRCA last year, and again, had not problem with them like that, but they do look a little vulnerable like that. I was trying to think of a way to rig some sort of slider to wrap around them, or something like that, so if he does slide off a rock or something, they will not get tagged.

Rick, got any plans or concerns along these lines???

I often forget who is who elsewhere. Monikers do that. Luckily I get to use the same moniker on all the boards when I do my excessive cross posting....

Josh is right. They do hang out there a bit but I'm not worried about it. Those things are REAL thick. If I land on em they act like a smaller wheel and just roll off. I guess a good gouge in the side would suck but it's not for on highway so I really don't much care.:)
