So heres the deal, Im going through a gear break in on a 8.8 axle with 4.88 gears and a detroit locker. Everything seems to be sounding and running fine I've driven the jeep about 250 miles and even changed the fluid once around 40 miles to try a aftermarket cover. With the magnet fill plug I'm getting alot of metal flakes that are very small but covering the entire surface of the plug. I hear that some metal in the fluid is normal with break in but my fill plug has been consumed with it several times.

Also the rear end was used and had a factory limted slip blow in the case, tearing up the gears ect. The housing was cleaned before the new install as throughly as possible. I did a visual inspection of the gears around 40 miles and everything appeared to look ok, What are your thoughts??

Thanks again,
