: BTF double ended high steer arm

Here's my issue.

95YJ, HP60, XJ leafs front/rear.

I have nearly flat leaf packs, and I like it that way. However....the tierod getting moved up on the highsteer arms has been put on hold, because I think it will contact the frame. I have got the leaf packs to only go up about 4"...but being flat to start with, I'm ok with that. But the tie rod is still in stock location. Causing weird turning radius problems. I need the tie rod up. With a double ended high steer arm......Will the tie rod clear a HP60 housing using a double ended arm with the tie rod in back?

yes the HP60 may cause a problem. You can try notching the frame out where the tie rod would contact it. We have done this a few times in the past when trying to keep a rig low.

We have ran the double ended arms with a HP axle in the past. The Red Bull car was running them with a True High 9 center and Dedenbear 60 outers. Check out the pics of the build. I don't recall ever bolting them on a Ford HP60 in the past

Thanks,
Dan

That helps alot, thanks.

Thanks for the reply dan. I already have the standard arms....so may try to make it work, but if not....gonna have to do double ended.

I am planning on running double ended with tie rod behind on my 1979 ford RC60. I've seen it being done and am confident I can get it to work. I will be running 1.5" RE SOA springs. (which RE says will sit close to flat...we'll see)

I used to run a 79 F350 D60 with WFO double arms with the tierod behind. Also currently running my Jeep with a tie rod behind and it's fairly low. My tie rod won't hit but the drag link could have so I have bump stops going on to set it for about 2" up travel at the frame.

That's the chevy diff, but the HP diff clears a 1.5" tie rod fine (as long as you haven't turned the knuckles. For frame clearance just bump stop it.
