I am looking at replacing a frame and I am trying to decide whether to use channel or square tubing(2"x4" size)

Which would be a better bet?

I have used 4" channel in the past and know that it will cost me about $3 a foot and weigh about 5lbs a foot.

Thanks in advance for any useful information... and lets not turn this into another use PVC/copper type thread:flipoff2:

I would use 2x4x.120 square tube. Strong, not too heavy, and easy to work with.

Tube is stronger than channel. Make your choice that way. Personally, I would use tube.
