i bobbed my longbed, cut the frame right up to after the shackles. im goin gto be putting my shittybuilt (the big black double tube bumper back on). should i get some rectangle bars that slide into the frame, weld the bumper to the bars. use the hole already in the frame for holding the bar, and do some small tacks (to get it off if i ever want to).
or should i use the same type of thing as the all-pro (and other) rear bumpers, the brackets that bolt to the frame and drop down?

i say go straight out, since you bobbed the bed take the lower valance thing off and youll get some more cleance. just my thoughts.

heres a pic of how high i cut the rear valance. the arrow is for where the mount comes out for my bumper.

how did you get that bumper to stay inside the frame? bolted it or welded it?

i don't have my bed bobbed, but i cut aorund the bed and under the tailgate.like moble1 is showing,i made a square tube bumper and used 3in.angle to wrap around the frame and bolted it on.it is very strong...

the black rects represent the frame. i bolted it to the outside of the frame. no welds. and the angle iron runs outside of the frame also not underneath. it works great and it hasnt moved. i have hi lifted off it and bashed it into so many things and n movement at all.

3" x 3/8" or 1/2" plate laid straight down the outside faces of the frame.
Can secure with two 1/2" bolts per side and add some tubing supports inside
the rails to keep from crushing the rails.
