Wilson 05-29-2002, 10:42 PM My guess is that it is part of the coupler for your :rainbow: ass vaccum disco. That is why people do a hub conversion:flipoff2: Is it really plastic??
Sillyneck 05-29-2002, 10:49 PM never noticed that part before and I've converted XXXX# of 30's to solid shaft.
what made you take it apart? noises? lack of function? was it supposed to be wrapped around the actual coupler ring as a bushing for the coupler actuator to travel on?
bigdude 05-30-2002, 05:35 AM Judging by the splines it's the coupler that amtes the inner and outer shaft like everybody else says. Just go one from the millions of 4wd cherokees at every pick and pull. Mine was metal, I just don't see plastic (and never have). Either way just pull the vacuum actuator off and put in a new coupler, if that's what it is.

Get the 44 under it:D

Got 5.13s and dual Detroits? :flipoff2:
Got HP60/14Bolt? :flipoff2:
Got 38's w/ Beadlocks? :flipoff2:
Got 100" WB? :flipoff2:
The money had to stop somewhere so don't be taking them pot shots at the venerable 2.5L:mad3: 81,000+ and no problems with the engine/auto-tranny/231
:flipoff2: :D (Fargo)

LOL, he has a 2.5L, I though you had a 4.0:flipoff2:
Welby 05-30-2002, 06:58 AM 5.13's would probably kick ass with the 4 banger and 35's, but 38's might be a little iffy :D. It's a great little motor though. I had 90,000 miles on mine and never had a single little problem with it. The 4.11's just couldn't turn the 33's too well :p

I had 4.88s and 36" SXs before. It would still cruise 70 mph like that.
5.13s and 38" TSLs are a good little combo. I think the 38" TSLs are actually lighter than my 36" SXs. I don't go to much over 60 or so now because my rpms are smokin' and my sh!ts not balanced on the beadlocks. It can hang when it's in 4lo, :in my best bayou accent: I guarantee:D It also make a huge difference that it's an auto:)

Fuck that, you will also be breaking your chit. :flipoff2:
You really don't need 300hp for anything but dunes and mud, this is pretty much a crawler forum. The 2.5L will hold its own in the rocks. Freeway kinda sucks though, but the freeway sucks for most of the rigs here for various reasons.
