: Checking in as a Newbie
LukeZero 05-29-2002, 09:48 PM Hey everyone. I just bought my first LandCruiser. Its a mid 60s FJ45. All stock except for a tube front bumper and 31" Cepek Fun Countrys. Found it abandoned behind a factory and got it for $500. Body rot on both front fenders and beneath both doors. Have had many Jeeps, but finally graduated to something unique. Was on off-road.com BBS for several years, but dropped it when I sold the last Jeep. Anyway, I will post pictures here when I get a chance. Later, Luke
Cruiser Nerd 05-29-2002, 11:05 PM From one newbie to another: Welcome. I'll leave it to someone else to give you the traditional greeting.
Is your FJ45 a long or short wheelbase? I've only ever seen a couple where I live, lucky find. :D
Macgyver 05-30-2002, 06:31 AM welcome, but check out this thread first. keeps us from having a dozen "here i am threads".

LukeZero 05-30-2002, 03:07 PM It's a short bed pickup. Wheel base is something around 100 inches. I'll post pics when they are available.
Leave it to a newbie to not check the stickies :p... but because
everyone else failed
:flipoff2: Welcome Newbie! :flipoff2:

LukeZero 05-31-2002, 09:39 PM Just because I wasn't familiar with this BBS format and hit the "POST" button instead of the "REPLY" button from the sticky post at the top doesn't mean that I'm a retard and its necessary for people to be jerks. If this is how new people are made to feel-see you all later. Thanks a hell of a lot.
warpdriv 06-01-2002, 03:51 PM Dude,
Don't get tweaked. That's just the traditional newbie greeting. Everyone gets it. Good to have you here.:smokin:

pontiota 06-01-2002, 05:24 PM Ease up on the feelings, If you didn't like that then don't even think about checking the Pickup or heep forums they'll bury you those guys are A holes. The're ruthless.
Deep South Cruisers 06-03-2002, 07:45 AM the TLC folks are as nice as they get at the Pirate BB, if you're thin skinned.....stay away from chit-chat:flipoff2:

I second that.. The cruiser guys here are VERY hospitable compared to the PU guys or some other boards.
:flipoff2: notice the smile.. if it's not a friendly gesture, you get a :flipoff: Think of :flipoff2: as a friendly wave.
make the http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/images/top_search.gif button your best friend, too...
Sounds like you have a nice rig... lurk here, and you'll learn a ton.. I was visiting for quite a while before I dared to post!
LukeZero 06-04-2002, 07:27 PM Sorry Fellas- I was short tempered the night I read those posts. My grandfather was dying (he died on Sunday night) and I was a little stressed out. Please accept my apologies for the short fuse. I got the title tonight to the FJ45 and its a 1966. Pictures will still be forthcoming after the funeral. Thanks for the patience. Luke
PS. Since I have always had Jeeps and done the friendly Brotherhood of Jeep wave. Should I now do the LandCruiser one fingered wave?:flipoff2: Just a little humor to show no hard feelings.:p
BJ On Roids 06-04-2002, 07:41 PM welcome newbie
ouibus 06-04-2002, 07:52 PM  Whoa, getting pissed and then cracking a smart aleck comment all in one short thread. That is impressive. Sounds like you found yourself a sweet find in that FJ45. I would love to own of those sometime. Although, we probably need to work on our current montage of cruisers. Three to be exact. Anyway, welcome to the brotherhood of pig owners always remember to not fight it, but feed the addiction. :D
ouibus 06-04-2002, 07:54 PM Almost forgot. Sorry to hear about the passing away of your grandfather. That is a really tough loss to have happen. Been there, done that. About a year ago, I lost my 3 remaining grandparents in a 6 month time period, so I feel your pain. Again, sorry to hear of your loss. Thomas
