: Waste $$$ on a rhino or buy a sami- capability?

Since they are so expensive and hard to find used, i think i should just settle for a sami, since its the closest thing and is probably alot more durable? I could have a pretty bling sami for the cost of a rhino. Guess i should look up the actual weight/width comparisons- they'll both fit in the bed of my pickup, thats all that counts.

Sami - hands down.

Lockers, crawl gears, and a set of baby swampers and you're set.

Rhinos are not worth the money IMHO.

I had a Rhino and it is a golf cart. Couldn't get rid of it quick enough. Can't be compared to even a stock Samuri.

rhinos are fun...but a sami that costs half as much is far better.

So i dont understand why people are paying 11k for these things? I mean i bet theyre pretty fun, but not 11,000 worth of fun for sure.

I guess its one of those things

My uncle across the street bought one, and it looks and drives nice, but not 11 worth of nice considering you could buy a 4 wheeler with more power and thats way faster for 4k less?

I seem to like the polaris rzr more, a little less money, more power and way faster.

I bought one thinking it would be cool to have, and you can *legally* take them more places than trucks...samurai's are more fun.

I have had both and currently have a rhino it is the best thing I have bought for what it si intended for. It's not a hardcore rockcrawler but i have a buggy for that. We use the rhino on my property to haul stuff around and my 78 year old dad uses it to work around the property. In my opinion you are asking about 2 different vehicles and it all depends what you want to do with it. My is fine for trails and some mud and very light rockcrawleing a stock sammy isn't much better and when you start putting tires and gears and lockers you aren't to far off the price unless you get a hell of a deal on the sammy and do things kinda halfassed maybe not quite $10,000 but within a few grand of it.

Or 8-9k for a dang 4-wheeler... heck I thought I was half nuts for buying my Foreman back in '03 for what it cost...

I blame revolving credit :flipoff2:

makes it to easy to get one

Yes and then they can slowly jackup the prices year after year and drop the cheaper models until eventually your selling your life away for what you could have done 10 years ago and still enjoyed life.

You can buy a decent streetable sami for less than $2000. Then spend another $4000(high estimate) swapping in toy axles and getting gears/lockers/etc and still not be at what a rhino costs.

"...I seem to like the polaris rzr more, a little less money, more power and way faster...."

This machine on the used market will soon cause this debate to be a mute one at best.

Our Rino is worth half of what it was when we jumped on the first ones produced that fall and the Rzr obviously stomps anything offered previously in regards to raw out-of-the-crate performance.

If you're looking to only stay on the full-size 'routes' and pick up a Samurai for next to nothing; who can argue that...yet I'm not sure why anyone would build up a junk car to be limited on the overall public trail systems that he road...especially with a good majority of them about to be shut down over the travel management rule that many of our orv leaders ignored (which is exactly why Polaris is about to slay the fat cow with this product).

Ever witness many Samurais fly through the air; do water wheelies or hit large whoops at full bore with no problem?

Again, and I hate to keep repeating this...but Polaris has finally come up with the groundbreaking formula that will cause our kids to care less about the rigs we are so proud of or scab together today...and they'd sell anything we had to get one if given the chance.
