Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. I would say dont go so high. 10 inchs is going to give you a center of gravity at can make things scary at times. just do some more trimming. As for the coil overs, if you have the cash go for it but I would put the money into other things first. As for the locker and gears OX are great and of your choices I would go with the 4.88. For your bumpers I would just keep what you have. They look pretty strong and very functional. The high steer is a must and I would go with a AGR superbox or again if you have the money go hydro. As for the Tcase it comes down to money again. you could get a 231 doubler and a flipped Dana 300 with twin sticks for much less then a Stak or Atlas but if you have the money the stak and atlas are bullet proof and install much easier then doing all the work with the doubler and flipped 300.

Last thing. The motor - the 5.2s are good motors and make power in the right places for crawling and they have tons of upgrades available. They are long lasting motors too.

good luck in your build make sure you keep us updated with plenty of tech.

its running 10 inches of lift right now and its pretty close to bein trimmed all the way out its running 12 inch travel shocks in the front right now seems to flex pretty well since its running fullwidths. I am thinking of running some 2.0 swayaway air shocks for now cause the Skyjacker springs ride like sh!t, will the air shocks fit my needs for now? I was gonna run 12's in the front and 12 in the rear. As for the T case I am gonna go stak I figure Do it once do it right I am lookin into swapping in a th400 at the same time. And one the bumper I am just weldin on a stinger setup. Thnx again for the feedback I will keep everyone posted and I am buyin a red star today!

the way I see it you are going to want about 350 in the front and 250 in the back but i would put the work in to be sure with your application.

Get that red star so you can search:flipoff2:

I woul lower it if your at 10" I run 7" springs that are probalby sagged at least an inch but I feel it is still to high. I run 35" with very little trimming and can clear 37's. Set your bumpstops and use your travel for droop. You don't need 8" compression travel for trail running 3"- 4" is plenty imo.

Doesn't sound like you've had it out yet. Having bought a pre-built rig, I would go over everything very carefully, checking welds, nuts and bolts, clearances, etc... then I would wheel it for a season and determine where to go from there. You'll quickly learn what to change, vehicle limitations, and weak points. You may find that the vehicle is set up fairly well already, or you you may find it really needs alot of work.

Asking for input on this pre-built rig having no seat time in it will only get a ton of different responses and speculation, which for me would be extremely frustrating.

Enjoy your purchase and get it out on the trail!!!

10" is too much. I ran 37's on 5.5" on my old chopped ZJ and I run 35's on 5.5" on my DD ZJ. 6-7" would be plenty of lift for 37's and it will be much more stable.

As for spring rates, I have no idea. I ran really soft springs on my SAW's but I also had no weight in the rear. I know Hal had coilovers on a fullbodied ZJ so maybe he can fill you in on spring rates. I can't remember his screen name on here though.

for the t-case I wouldn't mess with a 241. Get an atlas or something with with twin sticks.

and get alloy shafts for that 44 before you spend countless hours and dollars swapping out destroyed 44 shafts.

By the way, I have 5.5 inches of lift and clear 40's with 12 inches of travel at all corners. LCG=GOOD

I have messed with spring rates some on my ZJ. I am running really soft springs right now. I have swayaway 16" CO's. I run 250 over 300 in the front and 150 over 300 in the rear. it has worked well for me. But I still think the back is to light. I want to get some shorter springs and run an air bag setup on top for some adjustability for off camber stuff among other things.

I want to use universal air suspension but they currently only make bags for 2" coilovers.

I think you should lower the rig as well, my rig sits a bit high to.

With the hight you are running and the size of tires you should really be looking at a full hydro set up.

How Hard Would It Be To Swap In A NV241 T case Or Would it Just Make More Sense to Just get a Stak T case?

Why waste the money on a 241 when they are priced over 1500 and an atlas is 2000. I would say go atlas with the set up you have

I can't believe that ZJ is still kicking around.

If you want more indepth conversation on ZJ specific stuff go to www.mallcrawlin.com

Most of the guys already surf here as well, but the answers you have might already be answered with a quick search over there.
