Im planning on swapping a 60 in front and 14 bolt in the rear, got them sitting in the shop right now, also planning on moving the rear springs under the frame, any down sides of moving the rear springs inward. im building this one for off road only too so on road chaicteristics Im not too worried about.

Are you planning on reusing the stock springs?

Don't even waste your time with stock springs. Run some 56" chevs. Much better at handling any kind of abuse. Although, how much abuse can thornbirds dish out :flipoff2:

My rear stock springs now arc up after I ran them spring over this fall/winter. If I were to be keeping leafs, I would get chevy's and ditch those 2 inchers.

I can go either way got some 60" cheby springs froma 05 silverado sitting at the shop, I was planning on using the stockers because the ride is stiff allready since Im missing half the rear of the scout. Its really light back there right now. the only problem I got with a longer spring is its gunna stick out waaaay far out the back. but I can deal for now.
me and the brother got bit by the scout bug a long time ago and it infected both of us, so we got between the two of us, a 73 75 and an 65. and the toyota sitting on its side next to them all being parted. RIP. :ghost: pics to come
the plan for my 73 is moving the springs under the frame, swapping the 60/14 combo under and mounting on the h1 wheel and tires. should be a pretty stout setup.

yeah might be better for you, your frame is quite a bit wider then a scout 2's frame... abba put his under his frame and ended up pulling his back out because it was way too tipsy, and his truck sees a trailer everywhere it goes

ya, I would like to see this. I want to improve my shitty ass departure angle and right now I don't see any really good ways of significantley improving it.

Im still trying to figure out how to post pics, a lil compooter stupid i guess.
the bob helped from hitting the body a lot. but now I got a whole bunck of frame sticking out back. but looking at the scout from the side the rear fender looks just as big as the front and it looks like it shoulda been that way from the factory.
