fuel pump wiring

i picked up a 89 cherokee and they wired the fuel pump into the fuse box manually i was wonding were it origanally gets wired to... they have it wired to the acceries... so when the engine cranks its not on and i dont want it to be like that... so if anyone could help me out i would apperciate it...

If you don't already own one, go pick up a Chilton's and/or Haynes manual. There are wiring diagrams in the back (pg. 12-22 in the Haynes) that will tell you where they are wired. You'll need the manual for other things as well.

should be a relay under the hood, it has an orang wire coming out of it. That's the original fuel pump relay.
