Ran into problem with lockout hub install. There is no outer groove in the wheel hub for the Large snap ring that holds the lockout guts in.

Anyone had to deal with this problem. Not sure how i feel about the stub shaft snap holding the hub on the axle.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Maybe a dumb question but do you have a Dodge style D60 with external hubs? Every internal hub style I've seen has the retaining ring groove in it :confused:

a coworker has a lathe in his barn. So we made a custom boring bar out of a standard cutter. The Snap ring was around .080 so i used a cutoff wheel to trim down a cutter to .090 so we could plunge cut into the side.
Worked pretty well. here are a few pics
