Should there be any play on the shaft? I can move it in/out about 1/8 of an inch. The pump is making a rattling noise and I think this may be the source. The fluid level and idler bearing are fine and I tried bleeding the sys out to see if the noise would go away, but it still rattles. I removed the belt for now 'cuz the noise is driving me nuts. :mad: :D

Minor movement is ok but 1/8 is way to much in my opion. You needa new pump. There is no replacement bushing. It is made into the case.
