I am doing a 1 ton conversion on my fj40. I got 5.13 gears for the dually 14 rear and the dana 60 front. The dana 60 rebuild came with ring gear bolts the 14 did not I am trying to find these bolts. Talked to Randys ring and pinion and got Part#GM331422 for the bolts. I called a GM parts dept and was told the part # is GM331421 for the 5.13 gears is there a difference.

OEM 5.13 gears are "thin" whereas I'm guessing your aftermarket 5.13's are thick (to fit on the more common 4.10 and down carrier). Soooo using deductive logic, I would assume the 331421 are shorter bolts and NOT what you need.

BTW, do a bit of sirching, I'm pretty sure the dealership wants something retarded like $7/ea. At almost a hundred bucks, fuck that. There have got to be cheaper options.

I thought this one had been beat to death already...

The corporate 14T carrier break is 4.10/4.56
When you pass a carrier break (depending on which direction) you need a thick or thin gear, ring gear spacer or new carrier.
"Most" carriers for the 14T are the 4.10 and down.
There are 5.13 thick gears for the 4.10 and down carrier (numerically lower) however there are also 5.13 OEM standard thickness gears for the 4.56 + carrier.
This is not a thin gear either, a thin gear would be like a thin 3.73 for the 4.56 and up carrier.
The ring gear bolts are specific to each carrier.
There is also a deck height or dimension (bearing journal to ring gear mounting surface) which will tell you what carrier you have.

Also the number Randy's provided to you may have been superceeded. I don't have the numbers so I don't know for sure but GM changed part numbers quite often. I don't know the the measurement of either bolt. Ring gear bolts for the 14T are specific to that rearend.

If Randy's had them, buy them.
If any of the info I provided is wrong go pound sand and do your own research.
