Just picked up an 87 Suburban with a TBI 350, that has been sitting for two years. It will only start with fuel poured into the throttle body. It has fuel pressure at the throttle body, but the injectors will not squirt. It also has power at the injectors. Prev owner said my have crossed the jumper cables at some time when trying to start. Bad ECU? Would there not be a fuse to protect it? TIA, Kyle

Think I'll have better luck in Gen 4x4?

Plugs are firing, that's a good sign, as far as the ECM is concerned. Might try using a cheap LED-type voltage tester on the injectors to see if they are being fired by the ECM. There is 12v's at all times (when the key is on) on one lead to the injectors. The ECM puts a ground on the other lead at the appropriate time. So, with the tester light on one side, you should have a constant "on". With the light on the other side, you should see a blinking light when yiu turn her over, if the ECM is furnishing the appropriate ground. Your injectors may be clogged after setting so long; gas turns to varnish after a while. I'd disassemble the throttle body and give every thing a good cleaning.

Its probably the computer. It should have a fused link. Get a Chiltons manual for the schematic. Later models have a pink and black wire for ECM power.
