: Quad rock crawling comp

Since all of the new 4x4 quads are sporting lockers and bigger tires and such, i'll bet it would be kick ass to have a little comp with just the quads. No high tech crap, just new unmodified quads. Only allowed mods would be tires and protection. Wouldn't need a cage cause you could just jump off.

Can we have a special Xterra competition too.

We can have the latte run.

I would compete in a quad rock crawl in a heartbeat (coming from someone who has rolled their quad while rock crawling anyway :p )

Hmmm.. Well there is Rock Crawling on Motorcycles (Trials) why not Quads? I think most of the 4x4 models are a bit on the heavy side to be tossing around on the rocks, but I imagine you could lighten them up say around 300lbs.

BTW, if you've never watched a professional Trials rider, ya ought to. They will do things that will make you say "HTF did he do that?" Most of them could breeze through our toughest courses like I do riding my bike down to the gas station.

Fuck those fags, anyone can do that on two wheels with a bike that only weighs 200lbs. ( except me )

I saw 4x4tv and they were doing sledge and it got me to thinking. I ride and it would be cool to do.

I have a bad left ankle after my shoelace caught on my peg and pulled me over with the quad down a deep ravine and pinned me upside down underneath the quad and up against a tree, twisting my ankle severely. I had to wait for my buddy to come pull it off me, dripping hot oil and gasoline on me the entire time. To this day, the ankle goes numb at random times. I also would have died another time when I endoed and fell to the bottom of a steep hill. The quad did about six violent rolls, each one bouncing several feet into the air. One of the bounces was on top of me, the roof rack coming into direct and full contact with where my temple would have been if it hadn't been for my helmet. This was no light-weight, either. Honda 300.

I would enter a quad RC comp in a heart-beat! (Might be my last heart-beat, but that's fine.)

We have had at least 4 deaths on local 4x4 trails and forest roads around wheeling areas. Guys on quads. Guys on quads out solo. Guys on quads no helmet, guys on quads....

Dead.

I think they are a ball, but I am not sure I could bail off of one quickly enough on the rocks to avoid going down hard.

Just my $0.02.

Trials is very cool....

I am willing to bet most of those - if not all - involved drinking too...

Anyone that would try to set up a competition with quads is crazy, I would not like to see the insurance bill for that one. 4x4 rigs with all the safety equipment is outragous already, with counties and landowners wanting more than the million coverage we all used to be able to get away with. The hilton wanted a 6 million $$$ policy just to use their parking lot for a checkin and tech area.:flipoff2: :flipoff2: Yeah right, they better get that in line with reality.
Keep dreaming......maybe lance will start a quad section....wait....
I guess I should check to see if there is already one:D :D

I ride Hondas at work (mearly transportation ;) ). but I have to tell you A guy I know was out hunting Elk 3 seasons ago and shot him a 6x6. went to drag it out with his quad and he tied it way too close to the quad. while draging it out, he hit a snag that catchs the elk, the quad tilts up in a wheelie and the guy get about 6 inchs of Elk tine shoved into his right butt cheek.

Couldnt have happend to a nicer guy.
