where do you get your rebuild kits? I need one. sooner the better. or what other kits have common rubbers to use. I got one leaky one to fix on a front axle.

I just rebuilt the front and rear on mine a couple of weeks ago. I forget the sizes but they are standard American sizes . I bought mine at NAPA for about $2.00 each. ( The fronts are like 1 5/8" and the rear 1 1/16" ) . If you really want me to get the sizes I'll go look thru my bills.

I believe the fronts are 1 5/8" and the rears 1 1/8". As mentioned seals readily available at Napa. If you are looking for a complete kit that includes new pistons, seals, dustboots, spring, and bleeder valve, that is also available from the dealers in the $33-44 range.

After rebuild the simple test is with the wheel cylinder in your hand, depress both pistons into the body and release. The pistons should immediately slide back out to full extension.

i have a complete 404 front at the shop with the drums still on it. you're welcome to any of the brake parts. including the drums. one is brand new.....

thanks georg I will get a hold of you if I need anything. I think we are going to rebuild all 4. he has a disk brake conversion kit, but he still needs spacers. but he wants to go with us memorial day, so the drums need to be fixed till the disk conversion is ready.

My local Napa didnt carry any seals large enough. i think they had up to 1-1/2". Expedition Imports sells the seals.
